Submissions
Do you have something educational, creative, or entertaining to share? We are open to submissions from writers who want to share something unique, are building a portfolio, or seeking guest posting opportunities.
Carefully read the following guidelines before submitting your work.
Important Things to Note
- We DO NOT require a fee to guest-blog with us.
- We DO NOT offer a fee for submitting your work with us. This is for writers seeking an opportunity to build their portfolio or to guest post.
- We offer bylines, and all your articles are credited to you.
- You can send in more than one piece, but they must be sent one at a time. DO NOT send more than one piece per email.
- This opportunity is open to both fiction (including poetry) and non-fiction writers.
- We allow writers to link to their website (including a writer’s bio), but the links must be relevant. We DO NOT accept spammy links. We reserve the right to remove any irrelevant or spammy links from the articles we accept.
- Although your content will largely remain the same, we reserve the right to edit your work to fit the brand value and style.
- We DO NOT accept articles or links directed to adult material or content, gambling, casinos, alcohol, smoking, dating sites, gaming sites, and other similar content or sites.
- We DO NOT accept links to websites that offer similar services to ours.
- We reserve the right to include internal links to your article.
- Articles must be complete and original. We DO NOT publish content that has been published elsewhere, including your own website.
- Articles must be completely free of plagiarism. We will confirm using several plagiarism detection tools. If plagiarism is detected, such a writer might be completely banned from submitting to our site, depending on the severity.
Content Structure
- Articles must be at least 800 words long (except poetry – it can be shorter) with a title and relevant subheadings.
- Each paragraph should not contain more than four lines to promote readability.
- We accept pieces in all clean, readable fonts. But we prefer Georgia, 12, and justified format.
- Include original or copyright-free stock visuals. The number is left to your discretion, but it should also work with the length of the article (3 is preferred for a 1500-word article). We reserve the right to remove or request that you change images if the initial ones are not relevant to the article.
Further Guidelines
Fiction
- We can only accept short stories now, and they should not be more than 1500 words.
- Make sure your work is original and not published anywhere else, including your personal website.
- Include image(s) that are relevant to the story.
- We DO NOT accept stories that promote adult material, gambling, casinos, alcohol, smoking, or any similar content.
- While your story can be any genre, if you are submitting romance stories, ensure the content is clean and NOT sexually explicit.
Non-Fiction
- We ONLY accept articles on topics relevant to our services: printing, book illustration, content writing, editing, book/story ideation, ghostwriting, and publishing.
- Articles should not be more than 1500 words.
- Articles that educate or provide value to our audience are preferred.
- Make sure your work is original and not published anywhere else, including your personal website.
- Include image(s) that are relevant to the article.
- We do not accept articles that promote or link to adult material, gambling, casinos, alcohol, smoking, or any similar content.
Poetry
- Your poetry should not be more than 1000 words.
- Make sure your work is original and not published anywhere else, including your personal website.
- Include a featured image that is relevant to the poem.
- We DO NOT accept poems that promote adult material, gambling, casinos, alcohol, smoking, or any similar content.
- We DO NOT accept sexually-explicit poems.
How to Submit
- Send an email to submit@nnikapublishing.com with a subject title in this format: {article type} submission – {title}. For example, “Non-Fiction Submission – How to Submit to Nnika”
- Let the body of the email contain a brief introduction to your piece and a Google Docs link to the piece. Don’t forget to provide editing access to anyone with the link; we won’t go through the trouble of asking for access.
- We DO NOT accept file attachments.
- You can address the email to the editor.
- We will contact you once we have approved your article, and inform you when it has gone live.
- We will also inform you if we decide not to proceed with your piece.
- We receive a lot of emails and deal with a massive amount of requests every day. So, give us a little time to review your submission. If you don’t hear from us in 3 weeks, you can send a follow-up.
